Call your senators for great victory of Democratic Justice!!!

Here I go again:

It's not as sexy as the NIE and perhaps in the end more worthwhile, but please call your Congress People and inform them that you support Rush Holt's bill, HR 550, an amendment to the Help America Vote Act of 2002 to require a voter-verified permanent paper record or hard copy under title III of such Act, and for other purposes.

From his site:

The bill would require all voting machines to produce an actual paper record that voters can check to ensure the accuracy of their votes, and that election officials can use to verify the accuracy of the vote count in the event of a computer malfunction, hacking, or other irregularity. It would also call for a percentage of random audits in every state, and at least one in every County, as an automatic check on the reported results.

Bowerbirds on Pitchfork

To my surprise, I think I've seen Phil Moore's grill on pitchfork.

Hapsburg, Wadsbone

Today, 28 years ago, a comet struck the earth near Buffalo, New York.

Hey, Win!

MaryGrace and I are gonna be in the city this Thursday night through Sat AM, before we head out to Massapequa for a wedding. We're planning on staying with our friends Jay and Jill, former Ann Arbor folk, but we'd like to meet up with you at some point, if that's doable for you.

I don't have any of your contact info, except for a really old phone number -- ends in 7055. Is that still you?

Lemme know if you'll be around/available, eh? l(dot)evan dot michael at gmail is me.

Pitchfork Music Festival

If I were a good person, I'd post photos I took at the pitchfork music festival. Well, I'm not a good person, but Metromix posted one of Colin and Samm.

Nova scienceNOW Podcasts

NSN has a regular podcast available directly from our website or from the itunes music store. We have a new one going up tomorrow, hosted and produced by yours truly. So check it out. And if you feel like writing to Nova telling them that "damn that Rosenfeld kid is great on the air" don't hold back.

Shameless Self Promotion

Hi Jeaun People,

My name is Adam and I am a NYC friend of Wins. I am going to Shamelessly Promote my recently finished work: CocoaFIBS. Its an internet backgammon game for Mac. Its free. Backgammon is like chess, but easier in the sense that you can be both good at it and semi-well adjusted to the world at the same time. As opposed to chess where these are mutually exclusive conditions. Its really very little like chess.

apartment in Roscoe Village

As most of you know, Hannah and I will be moving into our spiffy new place soon. Our apartment on Roscoe will become available at that point. I just wanted to see if any of you were interested in it. The rent is 1200 and its a three bedroom with unrestricted access to the spiffy attic with a swing in it. The place is in alright shape, with the exception of its age and the issues related to that. Mostly, its just a big place in a good location for a low price. Move in dates can be flexible, but we're currently looking at moving out in mid-June.

How to Use Link-Up

Add this link to your browser's toolbar, bookmarks or favorites menu. When you're reading something cool that you wouldn't mind sharing, but don't feel like writing a post about, click the link.

A new window will open on the Link-Up page with the URL and the page title already filled in. Add a short comment, click 'Submit', and close the window. The link will show up on the link-up page, and in the Recent Links area on the side of the pages. Meanwhile, your other window is still open, so you can continue procrastinating where you left off.
